Springfield, IL Visit: June,26, 1999
From Sandra:
Well I have to say Lavey & Allstar are very quiet and tired tonight. They had such big day! Lavey loved playing and licking everyone earlier in the day but she was "konked" out in her little basket about the last hour of everyone's visit. Allstar was being her normal anti-social self; she kept going upstairs and hiding from everyone while all our guests were here. The only time Allstar would come down to visit is if she heard someone in the kitchen (thinking she might get a crumb of food) or if we carried her down here.
I had a great day and enjoyed Tina, Terri, Megan and Christine (and all their little ones) visiting. Christine was gracious enough to be our photographer for the group picture - wasn't that sweet of her. Megan and Christine drove back to the same area as Terri lives and I believe they are all going to the ball game tonight.
Oh, you all have to ask Terri about her "following me to my house"....
OK, here's my side of the story...LOL. It took Annie and I about an hour and
a half to get to Springfield and Annie slept all the way there :). After we
found Terri during her "I was following the wrong car" episode (which I might
add was totally funny as all get out) we made our way to Sandra's house where
all the fun began.
It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. You should have seen all six of
these dogs... it was a wagon train of butt sniffers. Well, actually the
Furby was the funniest. Ruby certainly stole the show for the first hour or
so. I almost forgot what having a puppy was like :) Ruby and Lavender
warmed up to each other and it was an "I'll chase you then you chase me and I
can bark." Ruby is just a doll you all. If my camera does me well, I will
have some great shots of those big ole' puppy ears :).
K. C. and Keegan were as lovable as the last time I saw them. They are
still soooo tiny :) and both behaved very well (unlike a red head I know).
Both of them a big hams when it comes to picture taking and Keegan actually
let me pet him quite a bit today. Annie, Lavender and Ruby were all about
the same size. Lavender gives great doggie kisses and I miss them already
:). As for little miss hiding AllStar... she is just a tiny little thing too
and such a doll. Both of Sandra's are very well behaved also. Poor Lavey
though, she sure wore herself out with Ruby :).
As for Annie the Regal B****, well yes Anita she decided to be a biter today.
She was in the mode of "you don't touch me or I'll rip your arm off"...LOL.
Actually Terri was able to sneak a pet or two in and Christine was really
getting to sneak a few in once the day wore on. Poor Sandra, all she got was
some growls a few snaps. Actually Annie was quite the friendly one with
giving "five" to everyone if they had a treat in their hand. I think she was
just overwhelmed with all the butt sniffers there :). She is a momma's girl
for sure and she won't let you near her truck. Sure hope that picture turns
out Terri... great shot of Annie's teeth.
Annie discovered the MALE version of the Min Pin today. Her and Keegan were
having a sniffing contest with each other and Annie's nubby was just a waggin
a hundred miles an hour. Annie really wanted to play with Ruby too but just
wasn't real sure about all that barking and bouncing though....LOL.
Well, I took about two rolls of film and I do have Christine on film too so
once they are developed you all can see the ever so kind picture taker.
It was great getting to meet Megan, Ruby, Christine, Lavey and AllStar, and
it was great seeing Sandra, Terri, K. C. and Keegan again. We all had a
blast as Sandra and I did on our first visit to Terri's. Can't wait to do it
again. Hopefully Annie will come down off her high horse to have a friendly
visit...LOL.
Tina & Annie (Mom... I was a good girl now where's that MALE doggie)
P.S. Many many thanks to Sandra for the invitation in to her home and for the
lunch she cooked for us.

Hi Listmates,
I'm Home (for now) I'm waiting on Megan to call me. I'll be picking her
and Christine up at the motel and we will be going out to a late supper
soon.
We had a wonderful time at Sandra's house !! Getting there wasn't hard at
all, it wasn't till AFTER we met Sandra at K-Mart and started following her
to her house that we got lost. I took off following the WRONG white Grand
Am and drove about 10 miles the wrong direction with Sandra and Tina
thinking the red car behind them was me....ROFL!!! Sandra found Megan,
Christine and I and got us to her house without further incident.
Once there our babies had a wonderful time, and RUBY is a riot !!!!!
Keegan was all smitten over Annie, K.C. was quite happy to spend the start
of our day up on my lap and Allstar basically said "The Hell with this!" and
stayed upstairs. Lavender was the perfect little hostess, even if she did
fall into a deep sleep nearly an hour before we left.

Well, it all started with a 6 hour drive to Rantoul Illinois... We got
settled in around 1 am at the ole "Super 8 Motel".... Up at 7 am, took my
shower, christine took her shower, took ruby outside to go "potty" , brought
her in, threw her in the bathtub for a minute, dried her off, and next thing
I know Terri's knocking on our door. As were all settling in the car, I just
HAD to see K.C. and Keegan.. Oh they are soooo cute, and tiny too!!!
Off to Springfield Illinois!!! Ruby loves stickin her head out the window,
but I don't think she will anymore after I almost cut her lil head off!~LOL~
Rule # 1: Never roll up a window with your dogs head sticking out!!!
I had her head rolled up in the window with her mouth WIDE open, tongue
sticking out, and paws barley touching the door!!!!! I freaked out!!! Do you
remember seeing the post I sent before I left for Illinois? Ruby's signature
said "Im gonna do something to freak mom out, I don't know WHAT, but I
will!" Well, the window incident did it to me... Anyway, we FINALLY made it
to the K-mart and met up with Sandra.. Tina and Annie showed up a couple
minutes after us... Off we go to Sandra's House!!! First, we were following
the WRONG white grand am, so we went a good 10 miles before we turned around
to find Tina and Sandra... Well, we finally made it there in one piece..
Lavender and Allstar are adorable!! Ruby thought she could be cool and try
to tell Lavender that SHE was there, and her presence WOULD be known!!!!
Ruby must have KNOWN that it was Lavenders house cause she's the only one
Ruby really barked at!!! If Lavender could talk, she'd be screaming "Get
this crazy B**** out of MY house!"...
Some of our lil rugrats decided Sandra's house would be a great place to
hold the annual "poop-fest '99" .. And we all thought it was just an
innocent minpin fart..~LOL~ We look around, find one lil poop area, look
around a lil more, and there was ANOTHER poop area!!! But I think that was
ALL the pooping to be had in that household!!!
BUTT SNIFFERS GALORE!!! There would be Annie sniffing Keegan's backdoor,
Lavender sniffing Annies backdoor, and Ruby sniffing Lavenders backdoor!!!
Oh it was hilarious!!!! At one point Ruby and Lavender were playing
Tug-O-War with Lavey's stuffed Flamingo.. TOO CUTE!!! Terri~ I hope that
picture turns out!!! Annie was definitely the fiesty one!!! I didn't take my
chances, unlike everyone else!!! I just laughed every time she would nip at
someone!! What a momma's girl!! Im sure the only reason Allstar hid, was
because she didn't want to deal with my yapping Ruby! All our furbabies got
along SO well, I could not believe it (with the exception of Ruby)!!
Lunch time.... As I have told all of you before, I give Ruby a lil bit of
what I eat... Ruby didn't want to wait for a taste of my food... She would
sit there for a second, then jump, scratch at my leg for a second, then
jump...Jump,jump,jump,jump... That's my Ruby for ya!!!! BTW~ Sandra's
Italian Beef is the BOMB!!! Everyone was exhausted at the end of the day..
Even Ruby!!!!
After we left, Terri took us back to the hotel where we
CRASHED for a few hours.. We didn't mean to sleep THAT long!! So we ended up
missing dinner with Terri.. Bummer!!! Sunday morning we went over to Terri's
and headed out for a brunch before we left town.. I could not believe Terri
did not care if Ruby ran around her house FREELY while we were gone!!! I
wonder what she destroyed? Hmmmm? Boy was the brunch GOOOOOD!!! Do you guys
remember Esther, Mckaylahs (sp?) new mommy? I even got to see her... Well,
the back of her anyway, she was leaving the diner.... After brunch we picked
up Ruby and went to the ballpark to meet Mark, the cool guy that he
is...~LOL~ Of course I was keeping my eye on Ruby the entire time making
sure she didn't eat anything that she's not suppose to eat... Like
LEMONHEADS!!! She would have had that lil mouth puckerd all the way home, if
I would have let her eat it.... Well, we went back to Terri's house to pick
up Christine's car , and we let Ruby and Sissy play together.. It was TOO
MUCH!!!!!~LOL~ Terri thought Ruby would like a little water before we left,
and OBVIOUSLY she didn't.. She sniffed it for a second, then dumped half of
it all over the floor! She had never done that before in all the time I've
had her!!! That basically ended our trip... A big hug to Terri for taking
care of us over the weekend, and we were off to the big state of OHIO!!!!
Ruby slept almost the ENTIRE trip home... I knew she would!!!!
Terri, K.C., Keegan, Tina, Annie, Sandra, Lavender, and Allstar, I want to
thank you all SOOOO much for everything!! Christine, Ruby and I had a BLAST
and can't wait to do it again!!!!! I miss all the fun already!!! I can't
wait until the "Big Reunion"!! Count on me being there with TWO minpins!!!!

From Mary:
I think the date was July 10th, 1999. We had been talking about getting
together for a long time and had never firmed up any plans. Finally,
Nancy said, let's do it or we never will. So we made plans for me to go
to her house. I asked that it be after Carl goes to work, so it ended
up being close to 3pm, before I made it there. Nancy only lives about
15-20 minutes from my house. I got Cocoa and Charlie in the car and
since my dogs don't go for a ride in the car unless they are going to
the vet, Charlie cried (loudly) all the way there. Neither of them have
been around other dogs before, so I didn't know what to expect. Nancy
was wonderful. Porsche, G-To, and Turbo were great and so much fun. I
was so comfortable there and, on the whole, the 5 dogs didn't do too
badly. I'm sorry to say that Charlie was a real grump butt, chasing
anyone who got too close, away. Bill was so great. He took the
pictures, helped take turns holding the dogs, got the pizza for us and
even slipped some under the table to Charlie and Cocoa. I'm hoping to
return the invitation, once I have my construction finished in the back
yard. Bill and Nancy Miller are great fun and their furbabies have
wonderful temperaments. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and Cocoa was my
little angel. Charlie, well, he was another story!!
