Josie was adopted on 11/20/99
Thanks to all who inquired about her.

This is Josie. We picked her up here in Sarasota on
10/22/99. Her former owners are moving to a new
home that does not allow dogs. Josie was very well
cared for and pampered at her former home. All her
shots are current and she is on heartworm preventative.
She even came with her own bag of toys and favorite
woobie! She is three and a half years old and very small.
She is only about 19 inches at the withers and a petite
49 pounds. Josie lived with 3 inside cats at her former
home and got along great with all of them. A big plus!

Here she is in our backyard which as you can see has almost no grass.
Along with our own 3 dogs and 2 fosters it is hard to keep grass in the
back. But hey, I don't have to mow it either.

Here she is lounging on the couch. Josie is very sweet but somewhat timid
when she first meets bigger dogs. It only took 1 day before she was playing
with ours. Josie has not been spayed yet but will be. All dogs taken in by
Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid-Florida are spayed or neutered and micro-
chipped before being adopted out.

Josie has had 3 diffrent owners in her brief 3 1/2 years. We want to make
sure that her next home is her last one. Are you the right person for this
sweet girl? For information on adopting Josie please go to the GRRMF
website or write them at [email protected] or call their hotline at
407-332-2840. You can write Josie at [email protected]

As with all our other fosters I will update this page weekly so please check back.

Well it has been one week and this is what we have observed. This little girl
is just wonderful! She has my mother-in-laws approval! If we had the room
for her and another foster we would keep her for our own. She is very quick
to adapt as most Goldens are. Josie "loves the one she's with". She has had
no formal obedience training and only knows sit. Good manners sure make
up for a lack of training! Josie is going in to be spayed and micro-chipped
next week, thanks to GRRMF. Check back next week for updates.

Sorry it took so long to update this page. I've been really busy working with
the dogs not to mention my other job. Josie was spayed last week and is doing
really well. The vet even cleaned her teeth while she was out. I was even able
to barter out the costs of the surgery so it did'nt cost anything (other than me
giving up a Sunday football game to work on the vets office). A big thanks to
Dr. Myburgh at Bright Cross Animal Clinic in Venice. Josie is really settling
in which we don't like because we know she will be leaving us soon. (If I can
pry her out of Gails arms!) She walks with us every night and we have been
taking her to our training classes so she can socialize with other dogs. I think
she is a lot more confident of herself than when she first came. She gets along
great with everyone, canine or otherwise. If you want your dog wild and crazy
Josie is not for you. This is a real lady.

HELP! We are in desperate need of foster homes. Without
homes we are limited in the number of dogs we can save.
