Out of the blue,
you came into my life.
Like a bright shining star,
or an angel you might say.

You took me by surprise,
and threw me off guard.

I had so many walls around my heart.
I felt nothing could ever knock them down,
but before i knew it,
within just a short period of time.

Your understanding, romantic, cowboy way,
captured my heart, and set my past astray.

Now distance and time has taken its toll.
We no longer have anymore patience left in our souls.

As much as it hurts, we feel the need to let go.
Maybe just for a short period of time you say?
I sure do hope so.
