| Carol showed her first Airedale Ch. Rock-el Supreme C.D.X. in 1972. Toby went back to Riverina, Burdale, Searchlight, and Tanworth lines. He was an excellent all round Airedale, taking high score in obedience trial and was excellent with children, but protective of master and home. My mentors and grooming guides were the Worthingtons' of Kerworth kennels, at that time in Van Kleek Hill, Ont., and after attending my first Montgomery County , I recognized his shortcomings. I purchased Kerworth Topnotch Tempest (Topsy), sired by Eng.Am.Can Ch. Optomist of Mynair, and out of Am. Can. Ch. Avaricious of Tanworth, who was an Airedale Bowl Winner. Topsy produced many champions, but her best puppy, Am. Can. Ch. Shawndee's Jackpot was sired by Ch. Eden Sal Sorbus. (J.P.) finished his U.S. Championship undefeated. Shawndee Kennels has produced many U.S. and Can. Champions over the years, but rarely specials one. My joy is in showing young stock to a championship, and then placing the new champion in a loving home so I can keep another puppy to show. We keep the special ones- Ch. Shawndee Flying Scotsman co-owned with Linda Smith. "Flynn" is our house-pet, spoiled watchdog, grandchild amusing clown. |
