Brochis Catfish

Sailfin Corydoras

(Note: the Sailfin Corydoras is not a Corydoras. It's a Brochis.)

A young Sailfin Corydoras has a sail-like dorsal fin. A Sailfin Corydoras has a green sheen on it if it is healthy.

As said before, the Sailfin Corydoras is not a Corydoras. You can call it a Brochis splendens or B. corerulus (that's its scientific names). To tell Corydoras catfish and Brochis catfish (of different kinds) count the number of fin rays on the dorsal fin. Corydoras have 6 to 8 fin rays, Brochis multiradiatus has 17 rays, Brochis splendens has 10 to 12 rays.

Care for the Brochis splendens:

pH: 6.0-8.0----- dH: 2-30 degrees----- Temperature: 72-80 degrees Farenheit----- Foods: freeze-dried foods, freshly-killed or live foods, and tablets.
