Hello Lynne, et all
Thank you for including me in the recipient list for your wonderful letter about Maz. It made me cry on and off all day. We were driving to my sisters house for Easter and I started to well up and snuffle. Rick looked at me and said," You getting a cold?" "No, just thinking"
Do you remember the line from one of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's poems...."When thought on thought brought downward tear on tear"? I find myself in that position often.
Lynne! Maz isn't bound by earthly rules! She knows where you are! She knows! She is with you. Because her posts are still in Tulsa doesn't mean she's drawn there. It's you, your spirit, that she is drawn to. How can I convince you that she knows where you are? If she knows where any of us are, she knows where YOU are!!! How could all that energy that is you, not draw her to the spot?
Someday when you get the things that Maz sent you and you have saved, would you copy and send some of them to me. I have lost all the posts I got from her, only actually printed out a few, and then the computer died and wiped out my hoard. Stupid of me not to print them. I was new to the computer world and had no idea how fragile and vulnerable things you save to file actually are. And I expected that we would all go on forever.
So I am left with memories of the posts she sent.....When we first started to know each other, I'd be merrily reading the Saluki-L or Gazehound-L posts, and suddenly get one from Maz that would make me take a quick inhale, and laugh, but think, " oh my god!! How could she say that on the list!"....only to look at the address and realize it was private to me. lol And she would give little encouragement's like, " Now, Loie!....Deep breath and smile!!!...." when she would see a post from one I was having a personal problem with, and she knew I'd be bristling!. So many times I got jolted out of a slow burn.....smile and have it be done with! Actually she went a long way to helping me come to terms with the whole thing, and I don't bristle at all anymore.
One of the funny memories I had while we were in Kentucky. Well for one thing, she had the most remarkable sense of direction, and was able to get us all over that foreign area. It was uncanny....You see, Lynne, her sense of direction will not fail her in locating you! But back to my funny memory. You know that Maz was a vegetarian, and on the way back to the airport, we stopped at a little coffee shop in a very small town for lunch. Nothing on the menu would suit a vegetarian diet.....So Maz ordered a lettuce sandwich. The waitress just looked at us with a blank stare. What???? Maz explained that she didn't eat meat, and the waitress suggested a bacon and tomato sandwich, and hold the bacon. She was really tickled with the idea of handing that order to the cook, who we could see through the window. "Just watch his face when he reads that!" We all got a chuckle out of it, and waited for the reaction....nothing happened. "Did you READ that?" the waitress asked, somewhat disappointed." Yeah", he said. " You don't want any bacon on the bacon and tomato sandwich" Very anticlimatical. But in fact he made her the best bacon less bacon and tomato sandwich she'd ever had.
Not so very funny, but a precious memory of a very special time. I don't think I'll be going to the Kentucky event again. Couldn't do it without her.
Lois
