Naeco means
“Chief” and I spell it “Ocean” backwards.
Naeco
came into my life on December 30, 1999.
The
next day she came to Canmore and spent New Years with me. We went
dog sledding in the mountains, playing in the snow, and more. We
rang in the New Year together. She was defiantly the beginning of
the best New Year.
There
is nothing we cannot do together, and there is nothing we won’t do together.
She is Naeco is my healer. She became mine at a very tough, trying,
and confusing time.
She
came given to me at a time of healing. We had numerous deaths in
our family in 1999 including Grandma Bell of Cancer who died in my arms,
My horse Ben of torn tendons, My Grandpa J from emphysema, and Grandpa
K from Cancer. I had to realize that with death there comes life.
She is my life.
Naeco
from the day I brought her home she was my shadow. Everywhere I went,
everything I did she was tripping at my heels. Even when I was picking
her out of the litter she couldn’t get to my Dad and I fast enough.
She was pulling at our shoes, chasing us everywhere, and following me like
a shadow. She was the biggest girl at the time and looked like a
little bear cub. She would charge through all the puppies to get
to us. She would lie down by our feet and wait. She watched
me and still watches me like an angel. From that day forward
we were meant to be. She is very protective of my family, our belongings,
and me.
I
was trying to pick names for her and I wanted something special and perfect
for her nature. Her name had to have true and unified meaning to
life, experiences, and me. I asked myself what she was to me and
I turned to her and said “my shadow.” My shadow from our guardian
angel. “Schatten von der Wacther Engel CGC” And that’s exactly
what she was to me. I believe in fate and destiny. I believe
she was meant for me for a number of special reasons. To this day
she is the best thing that has happened to me. Together everyday
we learn and grow together. Everyday is a new beginning for us.
Everyday she is my shadow. And everyday she is my angel.
Naeco
loves to do anything. We go camping, swimming, hiking, walking, truck
rides, quading in the mountains. Believe it or not she even loves
dog shows. She loves to haul around big sticks, I think if she could
haul a tree she would. She loves to bite water and splash around.
She loves to dance with her leash. Naeco loves to run, she is my
little black horse who runs on love. .
She
likes to wear Bumpa’s (Grandpa’s) hats, chase little old man Bandits’ tail
around the house. She likes to carry her Frisbee on walks, and loves
to herd anything that moves. Her special time is lying with Bumpa
on the couch. She also enjoys being bossy (Chief Boss). Naeco
eats everything and anything, and her favorite is apples. She is
truly amazing

is my friend, my partner, my defender, my dog. I am her life, her love,
her leader. She will be mine, faithful and true, to the last beat of her
heart. I owe it to her to be worthy of such devotion."
