~PRIMO POMERANIANS~

PLEASE BE PATIENT WHILE I TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO MY PAGE. ALL OF A SUDDEN MY PICS ARE NOT HERE NOR ARE SOME OF MY OTHER GRAPHICS. I APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

Hi, my name is Lesa Gilbert and I'm the caretaker and house mother so to speak, of Primo Pomeranians. We are a very small kennel (so small I'm not even sure if we qualify as a kennel - besides I really don't like the word kennel anyway) why don't we call it a Petite Pomeranian Paradise. LOL. Here we specialize in quality - not quanity.

We presently have one female and one male of breeding age (pics below) and one cream female puppy that we just adopted. Her name is "Primo's Cream Puff". We just call her "Puffer". We are still looking for one more female to add to our little family. Then we'll have 3 little ladies and one gentleman. I think that's plently. Like I said before -- quality -- not quanity. This way we have plenty of time to play and cuddle with each and every one.
Quality Time is a must.

We are located in Southeastern Kentucky in a little community called Big Creek. It's about 90 miles southeast of Lexington, Kentucky. It's a small community, not crowded with houses or lots of people. Everyone knows everyone else and usually what everyone else is doing too. LOL But we like it here. We live on a small farm, about 40 acres. We have a river that borders one side of our property - the dogs love going swimming - and we have huge hay fields where they love to run and jump and attack the tall grass (I think that's Puffer's favorite pastime - attacking the grass - you should see her bite and growl and tug at it - it's hilarious).
Our male - "Sir Black Magic" - We call him "Skunk" (when you see his pic you'll understand why we call him that) loves to go swimming. He'll jump in and splash a few minutes and then he'll stick his head completely under the water and when he comes up he barks like crazy (like he saying "look what I can do") then he goes through the whole routine again and again until he so tired he has to go lie down and rest, but he doesn't rest very long before he's right back at it again.
Our female - "Kitty Kathy Pom Queen of LM" (I don't know who came up with that name) - we call her "Groundhog" (my 3 year old nephew tagged her with that name - he actually thought she was a groundhog)- she has a different personality than the others. She's very laid back. She likes to play when its just me and her, but if the other dogs are around, she'd rather lay in my lap and cuddle. She likes to lay on the foot part of the recliner and chew on her rawhide bones while we watch TV. She's the most loveable, sweetest baby you ever met. I'm sort of partial to her because she's one of those dogs that will play as long as you will, but when you want to stop playing and rest, she's content to just sit there beside you until you're ready to play some more.

Our dogs are like family to us, sort of like our children. (My husband swears I worry more about them than I do him.) They love to snuggle up on the couch and watch TV when they're in the house (except for "Puffer"....she just wants to run and jump and play all the time - of course she's still a puppy). When I turn them loose outside, they run and run through the pasture and then head straight for the river bank - where they wait for me to catch up - then they hit the water - it's a site to see. But, more than anything else, they love to play with the cats (and believe it or not - the dogs and cats don't fight - they get along perfectly). But, when they think no one is looking (because they know they'll get in trouble if they're caught) they chase the chickens. Yes, chickens. Our babies share their home with me, my husband, our 14 year old son, our 9 chickens (8 hens and a rooster), 3 horses (Groundhog even went riding around the field with me once on my old horse - I don't think she liked it very much), 4 cats (that stay around the house)and I'm not really sure how many barn cats we have - (the barn cats stay in the barn with the horses).

Our dogs receive love and adoration from the minute they are born. (Who could resist those adorable puppies anyway). By the time they're ready to leave for their new homes, they've been exposed to a little bit of everything, from baths to brushings to toenail clippings. They're used to little people and big people and all the noises that come along with them. Not to mention all the noises that come along with farming, like lawnmowers and weed-eaters, tractors and plows and all the hammering and sawing we do trying to keep the pasture fences fixed. That way our dogs are never nervous or frightened of loud noises or strange things very easily.

Below you'll find a few pics of our little ones. I hope you enjoy them. I have new pics on the way that I'll be adding in the next couple of weeks.....so keeping checking back.

PUPPIES!!!!!
Occassionally we have puppies looking for new loving homes. But be warned!! We are very particular about our puppies' new family and surroundings. We'll ask you some questions that you might think are pretty personal and have nothing to do with buying a puppy. (Like what kind of house you live in, how many kids you have and their ages, what other pets you might have.... things that would have an effect on a puppy moving into a new home). But we feel that prospective buyers will understand that we want only the best for our little ones just as they do.

If you'd like to see what a Primo puppy will look like, go to our "Playpen Page". We have pictures there of a puppy that was born to "Skunk" and "Groundhog" back in November, 1999. Her name is "Muffy Brown". There are pictures there of her from 6 weeks of age to 6 months of age. It will give you an idea of what the puppies due on June 30th will look like since they'll have the same sire and dam. Just click on the picture below.

Thanks again for visiting our page. We really appreciate it.
