Our involvement in pure-bred dogs began in 1980 with the acquisition of our first Golden Retriever. This marvellous dog whetted our appetite for everything wonderful in the dog world; the discovery of obedience competition, the discovery of field work and the discovery of some of the greatest people on the planet!
Can.Ch. Krisroys Fiona's Dream
In 1988 our first Curly joined Riverwood. "Katie" became our foundation bitch, had three litters and produced some extremely nice puppies for us enabling us to carry on our breeding programme on a firm footing.
In 1993 Am.Ch. Pasha N' Charwin's Black Jack arrived in Canada from Louisianna. Jack completed his Canadian championship in one weekend garnering Group placements along the way. This wonderful dog made breed history in Canada that year and we were fortunate, indeed, that Jack stayed in Canada and resided at Rivewood. He attained his Canadian championship, his CKC WC title and his CCRCA WC title.

Jack, as you can surmise, became the foundation stud at Riverwood. His wicked sense of humour, his extreme good looks, his sound temperament and his joy of life is evident in his children and grandchildren in residence at Riverwood.
At Riverwood, we believe that, as breeders, we are the guardians of this wonderful breed. We take this responsibility seriously. All our breeding stock is cleared for hip and elbow dysplasia, eyes are cleared annually by a veterinary ophthamologist and heart screenings are performed. We provide a 2-year warranty on our puppies and we are pleased to provide you with all this information at the time of your enquiry regarding our Curlies. We usually produce one litter of Curlies annually and puppies are sold by reservation only.
