The Cairdes Farms Family
The People
My partner, Melodie, and I have been together for 2 � years. We have a 10-acre farm in Vicksburg, MS. Melodie teaches Grade 9 Geography and MS Studies at one of the local high schools. I work at home writing novels and creating webpages. 
Peter is eleven and loves Pokemon, chess, RPG games and anything to do with the Civil War.
Michele is thirteen and is a huge Buffy fan. She also plays Clarinet and rides her horse, Buddy, in local jumping events.
The Dogs
Fergus is our first Irish Wolfhound (and definitely not our last!). He is four and a half months old and is the sweetest puppy ever! His AKC name is Cairdes Cu Carrick Fergus. At the moment he is a grey brindle but as you all know that will most likely change in the next year. His father is wheaten and his mother is grey so its anyone�s guess. The name Fergus is Gaelic for "the choisest one" � rather fitting I�d say!
Angel is our one and half year old purebred German Shepherd. She has a marvelous temperament and is extremely intelligent. She is very playful and obedient, but is a wonderful protector as well. There is nothing she loves better than playing in the back yard with Fergus as they run and tussle with each other.
Lilly is Michele�s rat terrier cross that we rescued from the local pound. She is 3 � years old and would rather chase cars than anything else (much to our dismay). She also takes care of any rats or moles that might cross our yard. She loves to greet people by dancing on her back legs like a ballerina.
Callie (Callisto) is Peter�s sheltie/dachshund cross (and whatever else!). She is two years old and also a pound puppy like Lilly. She is very sweet, but not very strong in the brain department! We think she is a true blonde!
The Horses
Juliet is a registered Appaloosa mare owned by Melodie. She is 12 years old and a proven winner at barrel racing. However, the last few years have been spent in the family way! She has produced four beautiful babies of which we still own two.
Little Bit is my horse! She is a registered Appaloosa filly and will be three years old in March. Juliet is her mother (we used to own her sire, David, who is a leopard Appaloosa).
Whisper is Juliet�s youngest. She will turn one year old on March 20, 2000. She is very sweet, gentle and easy to train. She is also big for her age as she is almost as tall as her sister Little Bit although she is two years younger.
Here is Michele�s horse, Buddy. He is the old man of the group at 22 years of age. He makes a great baby-sitter as he will stand patiently as Michele leaps from his back onto the trampoline! This is also the horse she is currently using for her English riding lessons.
