I received a copy of Gustave Faber's Birth Certificate today. It shows what we knew - Gustave's father is listed as Julius, white, born in the United States, and has occupation listed simply as hotel. BUT!!! I have his mother "Molly" given name was Amelia. She too is listed as white, born in Germany. This is all the information that was recorded. There was a Paul Faber in St. Paul who had a hotel, could have been Julius's father. I will research this possiblity more very soon!

In recent months I have been searching to make the connection that our family grapevine has spun. I have finally found after obtaining a copy of Gustave Mackyol's SS-5, which is his application for a Social Security Card, he lists his parents as Julius Faber and Molly Gr�sslein. He also lists he was adopted by his mother's sister Kathrine Gr�sslein and her husband John Mackyol. This is how our family's name came to change. I am currently waiting to receive a copy of Gustave's birth certificate. This should show me more information about Julius and Molly.
I have been in touch with Andreas Gr�sslein, of Germany. He is very excited to help us because as I had told him, he is the only Gr�sslein listed in pretty much the entire WWW. My fingers are crossed that he will be able to help. When a connection is made I will have further information here, such as a tree outline. For right now I will wait. Thank you for stopping by!
