Roatan Scuba Adventure
Day 1 � Feb 3/07
Actually, the adventure started Feb 2/07. We stayed overnight at the Park Plaza hotel near the Toronto Airport, which allowed us to park our vehicle for the week, and take us to the airport (as well as bringing us back after the vacation is over) via transfer bus. I think it was somewhere in the vicinity of $100 (just over), so really - what a great deal!
Gary, me, Charlie (BIL), Hilda (Charlie's GF); Dylon (Charlie's son); and Brooke (Hilda's daughter) flew out morning of Feb 3rd, and arrived in Roatan sometime before lunch.
Gary & I (and Dylon and Brooke) were put into the Beach House. What an awesome room. Hilda wanted to have Charlie to herself for a "romantic vacation". We are such good sports. The Beach House apparantly belongs to the owner of Fantasy Island, and he was kicked out to accommodate us! (It was a FULL resort that week!)
Our beach house was pretty much directly on the beach. What a view to wake up to each morning!!!
We just sort of hung around this day. Had a welcome drink (Charlie called them "Panty Removers" - but then, isn't that a generic term for alcoholic drinks? LOL), and explored our rooms and the grounds. Our first day, and we already saw all kinds of wildlife - "Roatan rats", monkeys, peacocks (on our porch!), ducks, iguanas (on our roof)... I think I've found paradise!
