FEATURING... CHEWY & PEPPER!
These are my babies. :)
They are the most precious puppies in the world! (I guess everybody says that about their own pups huh? LOL)
Actually, they're no longer puppies. They are almost 5 years old. Chewy came into the world on January 27, 2001, and Pepper joined the world on February 17, 2001. My how the time flies!
Chewy is a red female Pomeranian, that we adopted when she was 10 wks old. She was such a rambunctious puppy, that I was "almost" ready to give up on her! So, off to puppy class we went. Excellent investment! *I* was finally "trained" how to communicate with my pup so that she would actually listen! Pretty ironic huh? LOL Although, she remained a little wild child (and always will be), but she became manageable. :)
When Chewy turned 5 1/2 months, we had her spayed. It just so happened that the breeder we adopted Chewy from had a 5 month old black pomeranian available that needed a home. :) :) :)
So, when I picked up Chewy after her operation (the poor baby!), I ended up bringing 2 pups home that day. :)
Chewy stayed up in our bedroom to "recoup" quietly from her surgery (especially with an "unknown" pup in the house now!), while Pepper explored her new home. Pepper's original name was Pearl (Black Pearl) which I loved, but none of the rest of my family liked it very much. Thus, she became Pepper. Of course, now that "Pirates of the Caribbean, The Black Pearl" with Johnny Depp hit the big screen, they love the name Pearl. But wayyyyyy to late now! Pepper she is and Pepper she will remain! :)
Pepper is much more laid back then Chewy ever was. They have very different personalities! Chewy is a definite "barker". Always has been. I used to get in trouble in "puppy class" for letting Chewy "talk back to me". But honestly, there's really NO stopping her! I don't care what anybody says! She is a very stubborn dog that will talk back at you every chance she gets with her shrill "trademark Pomeranian" bark!
Pepper, on the other hand, rarely barks. She growls instead of barking. It's not a malicious growl in the least (except when I'm trying to brush her, or clip her nails!) She uses growling to actually communicate, or talk. For instance, when she thinks she deserves a treat (for doing a trick, or going to the bathroom outside, or whatever reason) she will stand at my feet and growl at me. It's sort of a mixture of a growl/whine/bark. She is very cute and comical!
Pepper is also a drama queen. Always has been. The slightest touch in the wrong way and she'll squeal. When I brush my pups, Chewy is great but Pepper will squeal. Chewy came out of her surgery with flying colours, while Pepper cried the whole way home. Pep also took a much longer time to recoup from her surgery! They are very different, these 2 - both equally precious though!
Although we are thrilled with our babies (and maybe because we are so thrilled with our babies!) we are looking to add a 3rd baby to the family. A white male puppy. We are not in any huge rush, but we know that someday, we will adopt a 3rd pom into our lives. Of course I will update the site when this happens! :)
