In response to your request for mouse vets, let me recommend Mick at the Clayfield
Veterinary Surgery,  on Sandgate Rd Clayfield in Brisbane. There are 2 vets there
Graham and Mick, but Mick is the mouse vet. He is wonderful -he treats the mice 
seriously, as if they are actually animals (I've been to some vets that wouldn't 
even handle them!). I have had four male mice desexed by him, and he treated my 
entire population when they picked up a nasty intestinalinfection -thanks to him 
I only lost one of my babies, otherwise I could have lost them all. I wouldn't 
even consider taking my mice to another vet -he has the experience, the knowledge
and the interest, and I can not recommend him highly enough. 

Consultation fee is $18.00, but this seems to apply whether you bring one mouse 
or five.

Desexing a male mouse was $35.00, a rat $50.00.

Again, if someone is in Brisbane, it is worth a trip in the car or on the train (it 
is right near the train station) if you're serious about keeping your mice healthy!
Sorry to rant, but it is so rare to find a vet who can treat mice well, I tend to 
get excited when I tell people about him <G>
