  2. Papers will be supplied with the puppy if they have arrived from AKC. If the breeder is not in receipt of the papers, the buyer will be given a bill of sale and the papers forwarded as soon as received. The breeder guarantees that the dog is a purebred Shetland Sheepdog.
  3. The dog is fully guaranteed for life against the following hereditary conditions: eye problems, bleeding disorders, epilepsy, congenital heart disease and dermatomyositis. This guarantee also covers any other hereditary problems which, in the opinion of the breeder, would make the dog unsuitable as a pet. Should any of these problems be diagnosed, the breeder will require a second opinion from a veterinarian of their choice in your area (cost assumed by the buyer). If the diagnosis from both veterinarians are in agreement, the buyer may keep the dog and have full purchase price refunded, or may return the dog for a replacement when one becomes available, or may keep the dog AND purchase another for ½ purchase price listed above.
  4. The dog is sold as pet quality.
  5. If at anytime the buyer cannot keep the dog, IT MUST BE RETURNED TO THE BREEDER. This contract and the AKC papers must be surrendered at that time. Upon resale, the buyer will be refunded ½ the initial purchase price. Under no circumstances may this dog be disposed of at a Pound, Humane Society, Animal Shelter, any Rescue Organizations, Pet Store, Breeder, or given to an individual associated with a puppy mill.

If the dog is bred (accidentally or otherwise) the buyer agrees to pay a penalty of $1000 to the breeder. If the dog is not spayed/neutered by 12 months of age, the breeder will repossess the dog with no compensation to the buyer.
