Our Three Little Girls At  Rainbow Bridge

Bridget, Misty and Samantha

About Bridget

I was looking for a small dog cause we lived in an apartment, so one day while my husband was at work  I decided to take a ride to the dog pound, there were so many dogs to choose from I was going crazy....then I saw this tiny little black ball of fur, it was a Yorkie/poodle in a cage with a very large dog. She was huddled in the corner and scared to death....I knew right there I had to rescue her....I took her home with me. She was so good in the car and sat close to me as we drove home...When my husband came home, he said "what is that"? It took awhile for her to feel comfortable with him because she may have been abused by a man...She was 1 year old, and the people that had her left her in the backyard and moved      without taking her with them....After she felt secure with the family (also a small boy and girl) she grew to love all of us...We took her everywhere with us...and she lived to be 19 years old....She was a real sweetheart and everyone loved her very much and often think about her as we still miss her....

About Misty

We got Misty from a Pet Shop, not knowing what we know now. She was 12 weeks old...We thought Bridget needed company with both of us working ...and she was getting older...it turned out that Misty had a virus and after we had her  for one week, she had to be put in the Hospital as she wasn't eating or drinking...She was at the vets for about a week, and then she was fine.....Bridget did not like her and would growl when she came near her. After a while Bridget just tolerated her...Misty was sorta a grouch as she grew older and was basically my husbands dog...she hated to go in the car as she was the nervous kind. As she got older she lost her hearing and sight and could hardly get around. One time when she had her teeth cleaned, air got in her lungs and she almost died. She had a slight stroke and was never the same after that..She lived to be 16 years old....we will never forget her.....She was a very strong little girl...and I forgot to tell you she was a Lhasa...She was beautiful.....

About Samantha

This was my baby, and I loved her very much. She loved everyone and she was a lover .We also got her from the Pet Shop when she was 3 mos. old..Of course I would never buy from  pet shop again. We've learned a lot since then. When Sam came along, Misty didn't like it too much cause with them being the same breed and both girls there was territory friction between them. When they really started fighting so much (this started when Sam turned 1 yr old) we had to seperate them with a childrens gate...that was very hard on them and us both..By this time we had lost Bridget. They were fighting more and we kept them separated from then on..we had to take turns changing them to different rooms and they had to eat separately too....This went on till Misty got old and had to be put to sleep. Samantha was depressed for a long time after that as I think she really missed her....it took her months before she finally acted normal again....She loved to go bye bye in the car and we took her everywhere with us....When she was almost 14 she developed a tumor in her stomach...her heart became enlarged and the liver was connected to the tumor...They removed the tumor, but she only lasted a week after the operation. This was 2 yrs ago and I still miss her very much....We have her ashes in a little cedar box...We probably would of had the other dogs too, but we weren't told about it then....Well that's part of the story of our three little girls that went to Rainbow Bridge....and we still love and miss them very much.. :-(
