Simba is a large, handsome, male yellow Labrador retriever who was picked up as a stray and not reclaimed by his
owner. He was holding up one of his rear legs and was diagnosed as having hip dysphasia by a veterinarian. He was considered "unadoptable" because hip replacement is so expensive, and would he would have been
put to sleep but for the man who saw him and loved him. We worked with this man and the shelter, and were able to arrange the adoption. His veterinarian found a torn cruciate ligament which is now believed to be the
cause of his problem. If hip dysphasia does become a problem for Simba, his new owner is committed to treating it and Simba's life has been saved because of the love of one man. |
