North American Russian White Association
(NARWA)

The North American Russian White Association (NARWA) has been established as a Stud/Queen Book to identify specific White Russian Blue cats the are carrying only the genes for White and for Blue coats, and to preserve these lines. White Russian Blues are genetically Blue, therefore, they produce only White or Blue kittens when bred to Russian Blues.

To have a Russian White certified the cat must meet the following criteria.

  1. Imports must supply a 5 generation "certified" pedigree from the registering body in the cats home country.
    The pedigree must be traceable to the White Russian Blue Foundation cat.
    The pedigree must show only Blue & White cats, NO other colors are acceptable.

  2. Cats born in North America must be able to trace their pedigrees to a "NARWA Certified" imported cat;
    or to the original White Russian Blue Foundation Cats, with no colors other than Blue or White in their pedigrees.

  3. Cats cannot be registered with the NARWA until they are 8 months of age and their eyes have turned
    green. Owner must submit a picture of cat with application showing that cat has green eyes.

  4. Cat Must meet the written standard for Russian Blues except for coat color.

  5. Owner of cat being certified must agree to only breed White to Blue. NO White to White breedings are
    acceptable.

  6. Owner of cat agrees to produce no more then two litters of kittens per female during a 12 month period.

  7. Certification can be pulled for the following reasons:

If all of the above criteria are met and agreed to, the application for certification will be accepted. Once verified, the cat will be issued a certification number and certificate. The cost of the certification process is $5.00 U.S. per cat.
