BEAR'S STORY
Bear was left in the SPCA "night deposit" kennel on Christmas Eve 1992 with a note saying that his name was Bear and that he wasn't "good with children." On January 3, we found him there while helping a friend select a puppy for adoption. He was very thin, his skin and coat were a mess, and he was filled with whip worms. He sat when asked to and offered a paw to shake when requested. He was a real charmer. He was also less than a day away from being euthanized. So Bear came home with us. We thought we'd clean him up, rehabilitate him a bit, and find a good home for him. Bear thought otherwise. So here he is, nearly six years later, and we still haven't found that good home for him. While he's been waiting for that good home to come along, he's earned his Canine Good Citizen Certificate, his Companion Dog title (with 5 placements in 6 shows) and his Companion Dog Excellent title, which he finished in September. He's getting ready to start training for Utility with his pals at the Rotty Den.
