Food

Feeding your guinea pigs doesn't have to become a game of exact science, even though there are some special things you have to do for the little ones. Suce things would be: give them plenty of vitamin C since they can't produce that themselves, Giving them chlorine free water.
Water
for the water you should just boil it, or buy bottled water, that simple. Plus you can buy vita drops or another vitamin supplement which you place in their water, and then they have vitamin C.
Daily Kibble
You might be going "Kibble??" but no need to fret, I don't mean dog food, or cat food. I mean the dry food for small animals (Guinea pigs)This stuff usually has a lot of the vitamins, and other stuff your pets need in their diet. There are so many types you can choose from, the type I use is: Exact Rainbow Guinea Pig Food. Everything my guineas need is in it, it is a balenced diet.
Fresh Food
Although your guinea could survive souly on kibble, it isn't good for them do be feed kibble only. They need their fresh foods, in fact that is what guineas love best. Here is a list of fresh foods that you should give to your guineas each day:
  • Carrots (Guineas Fav.)
  • Apples (MMM MM Good)
  • broccoli (Got to love those greens)
  • Lettuce (NOT ICEBURG!!!! ICEBURGY LETTUCE IS NOT GOOD FOR THEM!!!!)
  • Clovers (A fav. snack, but only give in little amounts)
Now on all fresh food make sure it is clean, and on Clovers make sure they have not been sprayed with any chemicals, in fact if you can, grow your own.
HAY
Hay is like bread to a guinea, and they love it. A must in any diet. I have been trying to find out which is best Alfalfa (sp?) or Timothy Hay. I have been useing Alfalfa, but if you know a reason for Timothy hay being better do tell:)
Here is a list of what I give my guineas each day.
