NOTES FROM THE EDITOR'S DOG

Hi,This is Molly Brown again. We went to a better Dog Showing-it was the RDOC Agility Showing. It was at the Belroi Showing Yard, so I knew all about it because we have Played Agility there before.

I did the High Climbings and the Weavey Poles on the first day, and I did both of them in the same Class on the Second day. It was called Open. I got Ribbinz and they took my Pitcher. It was not hot and it was not boring.

The only Bad Thing was they didn't give out Treats on the first day. They gave out a Dumb Leash instead. The People liked the Leashes but us Dogs would rather have Treats. Skye-the-Keeshond's People-Mom had some Good Treats and I got to eat some. Making the Treats is on the next Page.

Many Friends were there: Jesse-the-Malinois, Sam and Spice and Canyon and Wings and Trendy who are all Shelties, and Dyna-the-Dal and Mover-the-Dobe and some of Skye-the-Keeshond's family and Drive-the-Springer and so many others that I couldn't remember!

All the People were Sad because Jesse's People-Mom, Marion, is going to Move Away. They might come back To Visit, but they will live far Away in Montana. I hope Jesse and Mitch and Barkley and their People like their new House. The RDOC People and us Dogs will miss them.

It's going to be Thanksgiving. That means it's going to be Cold out. And Relatives (People and Dog kinds) will visit. And the Turkey will get cooked. It smells really good but you don't get to eat much of it because it will make your Tummy sick.

At Thanksgiving you're s'posed to be Thankful. That means you have to say what are Good Things.

I think I am Thankful for Agility Games. They mean I get to Train with my People-Mom and I get to eat Hot Dogs. Maybe I'm just Thankful for Hot Dogs.

I'm Thankful for Luke the Pappalillion. Sometimes he is 'bnoxious, but his Puppy Teeth are gone now so he is more fun to play with. And he is Smart, like me, and he makes my People-Mom happy.

I'm Thankful for Rawhide Chewers. They are fun to eat. People think they are Good for your Teeth. And they are a good reason to play Keep-Away From your Relatives, which is a really Fun Game.

I'm Thankful for Gooses. They are fun to Chase. That is called Herding. They make good Poop you can eat, but not if the People are watching.

I'm Thankful that Grandpa Tad and Grandma Alicia and Auntie Missy are not Sick any more. But we still miss them.

Bailey says he will be Thankful when our People-Dad decides whether he should "Come" or "Down" in the Practicing. I tried to tell him that it's the Dropping-on-Recall, but Bailey is sort of dumb about that.

My Sheltie-Dad Adam, Uncle Douglas, and Sister Torrie are Thankful to be Retired. They only go to a few Dog Showings, and they get lots of Treats. They think this is a Good Idea.

Luke is still a Puppy so he doesn't know how to be Thankful yet. Maybe Pappalillions can't BE Thankful. Like I said, he is sort of a Pain.

Here is the Story for Making the Very Good Treats that Skye's People-Mom makes.

Love,
Molly B.

Chicken Liver Brownies For Dogs

2 LBS of Chicken Livers
1/3 cup corn oil or peanut oil
2 eggs
Fresh garlic cloves
3 Cups Flour

Mix first 4 ingredients well in blender. Combine with flour in mixing bowl. Pour into WELL GREASED 9 by 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 until firm {35 to 45 minutes}

While it is baking open all your windows and leave the house as it is stinky while cooking. Allow to cool completely then cut in to small pieces. Freeze them. They thaw quickly. Every dog I have offered them to has loved them. Cathy Foldesi
