No junior over 13 years of age may ride in a Regular Small Pony Hunter Section. No junior over 14 years of age may ride in a Regular Medium Pony Hunter Section. In classes over fences, smalls (not exceeding 12.2hh) to jump 2’3”, mediums (12.3-13.2hh) to jump 2’6”, and larges (over 13.2-14.2hh) to jump 3’. All classes to be judged on performance and soundness, except where otherwise noted. Manners and suitability of a pony for a rider shall be emphasized and extreme speed shall be penalized. CRA Hunter Seat Equitation Classic (21 entries) - Open to all riders. The same horse must be used in all phases of the event. Each horse may be used by one rider only, unless the judge requests a change.. Classes to be judged in accordance with the current AHSA standards for equitation. Conventional tack per AHSA rules, Article 2209.2 except that only running martingales used in the conventional manner are permitted in the Jumper Phase. Boots and conservative colored bandages are permitted in both phases. Hunter Phase: Shown over 9 jumps at 3’6". The course consisted of natural jumps and included a combination, hunter lines and a long approach to a single jump. Jumper Phase: Shown over 12 jumps at 3’6" with spreads to 4’. Two double and 1 triple combinations were included. There were 3 changes of direction. In addition, the following were included: vertical-no ground lines, liverpool, narrow jump (width of 8’), a triple bar, swedish oxer, and fan jump. Jumper phase, a Time Allowed was used based on a speed of 360 yards per minute. Both Hunter & Jumper Phases were scored under the numerical system in the first round. First round scores from each phase will be added together to determine the overall winner.
