HoofBeats players are to follow these rules at all times. They have been planned in such a way that the game would remain safe and active at all times, but if you don't like them, or feel that you won't be able to accede to them, please let Christine know.
Player Conduct
Do not send chain letters or mass-mail other players. No harassment of the other members is permitted. Profanity is strictly prohibited.
You can be in other SIM horse clubs if you do not advertise or link to them on your HB pages and accede to HB rules
All
stable, association, registry, and business pages should write "This is part of a game, HoofBeats." at the top, with a link to HB.
If any member attempts to break these rules, it is the responsibility of the other players to inform the Players' Committee so that the Committee could take action against the player.
Registration
New players have to register for approval at the "Joining" page. Emailing barn owners and requesting to board at their barns is not allowed for administrative reasons.
Names, email addresses and dates of entry of new boarders must be submitted by their counselors to the Boarder List within 2 weeks of their entry into the game for registration.
All horses must be registered with the Equine Registry. Horses from new members must be registered once the new members receive notification that they have been approved as official HB players.
When a horse is traded, the buyer must notify the registrars in the Equine Registry, who would then transfer all records of ownership to the buyer.
Finances
New members start playing with $70,000 and up to 5 cyber horses.
All new members are required to start a bank account with an account once they become official HB members. The only permitted ways of payment are in cash, check or credit card, both of which call for a bank account.
Players are required to notify their bank accountants of all changes in their finances within 2 weeks.
Barn Administration
The maximum capacity of a barn is 500 stalls.
Boarders may not own more than 20 horses at any point of time
Barn owners may own up to 150 horses and only 1 barn.
All horses must be taken to their vet for a check-up once every 6 months.
Stable owners should forward the daily newsletters to their boarders and post
to the newsletter for them.
Boarders
who would like to own mini-barns are to get approval from their barn owner. Owners of mini-barns can own up to 40 horses.
When boarders apply to the Players' Committee for a barn, they must have at least 2 counselor recommendations and are to pass a test on HB information as well as equine care and stable management before their barn may be approved.
All members are required to solve a catastrophe at least once every 2 months. Barn owners should make up catastrophes for their boarders and one for themselves as well. The solutions to the catastrophes are to be posted to the newsletter.
A
barn report is to be posted to the newsletter by the barn owners at least once per month. The report should be in this format:
Barn Report from BARN NAME
Date:
Issues:
Issues discussed should include new boarders, horses for sale and stud, new foals, special barn events, upcoming barn shows, catastrophes and its solutions and any other items the barn owner might like to bring up.
Game Duration
A 1-3 year old horse ages at the rate of 1 SIM year every 6 months
A horse 4 years and up ages at the rate of 1 SIM year every year
A mare must be in foal for 2 weeks before the foal's birth
Shows And Races
You must get permission from the Events Webster to host a barn show or race.
Class lists are to be submitted to the Class List Webster within 3 days of the show's approval, and results are to be in within a week after the show.
An association has to host a show at least once in 2 months.
To host an association event, email the owner of that association, who would then give you the date to host the event, as well as confirm the class list of the show or race program.
Horses may only race 2 times maximum per month. No horse may race twice in the same day.
