


The regularly scheduled CPOA-Orlando meeting takes place twice monthly, once each on Alpha and Bravo drill weeks, on Saturday at 1030. See the dates page for drill dates. All Chief Petty Officers (reserve, active or retired) are welcome to attend.
The CPOA will be sponsoring the Great Chili Cookoff on 21 February 1999. The winner as judged by the troops will split the $5 entry fee.
1998
The CPOA sponsored a retirement cerimony for Senor Chief Gene Dougherty
and Chief Jeffery Keen on 12 December 1998. These two outstanding
Chiefs will be greatly missed.
The annual CPOA-Orlando Kaki Ball took place on 26 Sep 1998. The Kaki Ball was an opportunity to welcome in the new Chief Petty Officers as well as reacquaint with the area Chiefs. Over 100 guests and Chief Petty Officers attended. The new Commanding Officer of the N&MCRC Orlando, Captain B.R. Malone was the guest speaker. The Master of Ceremony was shared by Master Chief Christi McCoy MCPOC and Master Chief Chuck Dassance the Senior Reserve Enlisted Advisor for the Center.
Master Chief Strickland's retirement was also celebrated during the Ball. Captain V.D. Joosten, the recently transfered Commanding Officer of the N&MCRC Orlando attended for this occasion and spoke of Master Chief Strickland's carreer and tenure at her command. The CPOA Orlando wishes him Fair Winds and Following Seas. He was an important part of our CPOA.
