Subject: Wear-Out And Mandatory Possession Date Clothing Items
1. The purpose of this message is to update the message DTG 031035z Jan 98 SAB and also to provide commanders and soldiers with the correct and latest wear-out and mandatory possession date clothing item policy.
2. Para 1 (f) should read as follows: The enhanced hot weather battle dress uniform (EHWBDU) replaced the hot weather battle dress uniform (HWBDU). Mix and match wear of the EHWBDU and HWBDU coat and trousers is authorized. The design changes are: fabric change from 100 percent cotton ripstop poplin to 50 percent nylon/50 percent ripstop; fused collar/pocket flaps; removal of waist of tab; waist suppressed three inches; and removal of knee pleats. The mandatory possession date for the EHWBDU is 1 October 2000. A wear out date of the old HWBDU will not be established. Stocks will be used until exhausted.
3. This message does not change other wear-out and mandatory possession date clothing items.
