Hawaii is the 47th largest state in the US, and consists of 124 small islets. The state of Hawaii is eight islands big. Hawaii's state motto is Ua Mau Ke Ea O Ka Ina I Ka Pono, and it's state bird is the Nene. Hawaii's flower is the Yellow Hibiscus and it's tree is the kukui . Hawaii became a state back in August of 1959, and is 6459 square miles big. Hawaii has a coastline of 750 miles long.

Oahu

Oahu also know as the gathering place is 594 square miles long, consisting of 112 miles of coastline. Its flower is the Ilima and color is yellow. Oahu's Length is 44 miles and width 30 miles. The Island's highest point is Kaala Peak being 4,003 feet high.

Hawai'i

Hawai'i, also known as the Big Island, for it's hugeness. The Big Island is 4,038 square miles big, leaving it to be the largest island in the Hawaiian Chain. Its length is 93 miles, and its width is 76 miles. The Big Island's flower is the Red Lehua, and this island is home of the orchids. It has a coastline of 266 miles, and it's highest peak is Mauna Kea with 13,796 feet high.

Maui

Maui, also known as the valley isle is 727 sq. miles big, and it's highest peak is Haleakala being 10,023 feet tall. Maui is Hawaii's Second Largest Island.

Kauai

Kauai, a smaller island compared to the others, is also known as the garden Isle for it's lush green valley, and it's uninhabited Na Pali Coast. Kauai's tallest point is 5243 feet high, which is Kawaikini Peak.

The people of Hawaii include Caucasians, African Americans, American Indian, Eskimo, Aleut, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Korean, Thai, Asian Indian, Vietnamese, Hawaiian, Guamanian, Samoan and other Asian and Pacific Islanders. Also Dutch, English, French, German, Irish, Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Scottish, Puerto Rican and Spanish. About 25% of the state's population speaks a language other than English at home.
