�����The 1st Air Commando Group began life as the 5318th Air Unit, before becoming the Provisonal Composite No. 1 Air Commandos, and eventually the 1st Air Commando Group, this unit was truly composite in nature, consisting of transport, fighter, fighter bomber, bomber and liason aircraft. Formed to directly support the activities of General Wingates "Chindits", the 1st Air Commando Group was, in effect, a complete air force on a group level, capable of providing the complete spectrum of air support. �����If you have any information or photos concerning the group that you wish to contribute to this site please let the webmaster know.
