I got interested in Air Traffic Control when my husband at the time was working at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City. I finally got hired by the FAA in 1990, but was one of the unfortunate ones to wash out of the Academy. I fell in love with ATC while going through the school, and realized this was what I wanted to be when I grew up. So I joined the Army to pursue my career in ATC.
I started my career at Fort Hood, TX where I recieved a CTO from Hood Tower, Hood AAF. From there I went to Korea and worked in Walker Tower, Camp Walker, Taegu, Korea. After my tour in Korea I went to Andalusia-Opp Municipal Airport, Andalusia, AL. It is one of the remote fields at Fort Rucker. I then moved to Fort Drum.Wheeler-Sack Army Airfield. Where I worked the Radar Flight Following. Now I am stationed in Germany and work at Ansbach Army Heliport in the Control Tower.
