The MPS-9 was an Echo band system operating in the 2700 to 2900 MHz band. This system was employed as coastal defense during World War II with at least one system, serial number 96, seeing action in London, England during the war. Anti-Aircraft Artillery guns were slaved to the radar, using the radar's synchro information to direct the pointing of the guns. Later, the "9" was coupled with the OA-215 plotting board and designated AN/MSQ-2.
