AN/MLQ-T4 Ground Jammer...
The AN/MLQ-T4 is a ground based jammer operating in the "I" and "J" bands. It provides various types of jamming including deception and noise. These modes can be used to train aircrews in recognizing and countering these types of jamming. The T4 uses IFF/SIF tracking when remote from the main radar site. When it is co-located, it is slaved to the primary tracking radar. A third, less accurate option is manual tracking using a closed-circuit TV system. These pictures show the prototype and a production system, serial number 2. The distinguishing feature between the two is the RF receiver located on top of the pedestal. The prototype has a monopulse receiver, so there are no dishes, only the flat feedhorns. The production system has one "I" and one "J" band dish on the receiver, just like the ones used on the transmitters.
