Comments added - radar gang at Gitmo; Bruce Baker, RD3 was from Bremerton, WA; Charlie Petit, RD1 (at the time - he became our Chief) was from Georgia; Homer Procter, RD3 was from Chapel Hill, SC (NC? - ed); Bob Tansey, RD3 was from NY, and Sammie Norris was from Gary, IN. Missing are George Cornack, RD2, NY; Gerald Stire, RD1, VA; Marty O'Hara, Minneapolis; Ray Allard, RD3, CT; Robert Smith, RD2. Our CIC Officer was LTjg Jim Rucker, OPS was Mr. Long.

These snapshots were taken on the occasion of the presentation of a model of the U.S.S. Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr., DD-850, which was carved by a petty officer on the ship, to President and Mrs. John F. Kennedy, young Joe's kid brother. The ship was underway during the America's Cup races in 1962.
