Fresh from winning a ninth
constructors' world championship title, Williams Grand
Prix has no intention of letting things slip. All the
pointers show that the British team will be THE team to
beat in 1998. The new FW20 would appear to live up to
expectations. The Renault V10, disguised as a
Mécachrome, remains among the best engine in the 1998
line-up, if not the very best. As far as the drivers,
Villeneuve and Frentzen, are concerned, they have made
their intentions perfectly clear: the Canadian will be
fighting to hold on to his world title, while the German
will be battling to beat his team leader. It will be up
to Frank Williams and Patrick Head to manage this
situation, which could very rapidly degenerate if good
results come quickly. |
