I was born during the height of the Vietnam War. God, what a totally screwed up war!!!! Our politicans at the time thought is was cool to send men into a country that we were not familiar with, and politicians trying to keep score of how much ammo was dropped, and trying to keep tabs, on what i think was gruesome, and that was how much enemy casualties as well as American casualties per day of the war on the TV every night, when in essence, the enemy outsmarted us.
I started working odd jobs in 1991, I felt the need to serve my country, because I love my country, and I have always been a patriotic person. I recently graduated from the Northwest Technical Institute, as a Computer Technician Specialist, but thanks to the present economy, it has been tough to find a job in the Computer Technician field with only a diploma from a Technical School. It seems the real good jobs require at least a B.A. degree. I am right now, going to the University of Arkansas, and go for my B.A. in Computer Science. Maybe then, I will not get the usual excuse "You have to have experience to get experience" talk in circles routine, and what seems like the norm recently, or the "Don't Call Us, We Will Call You" response. Until that happens, I will continue working for my family. Both keep me extremely busy, but it pays the bills right now, and that is what I need.
The following are my opinions on a lot of things aside from the POW/MIA issue that I am so passionate about. They are as follows:
1.) Patriotism - Patriotism in my opinion is something that you feel about your country, and that you have a deep love for your country, and want to see it prosper, and if need be, serve your country either through the military, or public service to see a better life for your country that you live in. If you want to see true patriotism, look at those who have served, will serve, or are serving now, and ask them their meaning of patriotism. Patriotism is not something that you can do when the moment strikes you on any given day. That, in my opinion, is called commercialisim. This commercialism is, in my opinion, is profiteering off of those who have fought for, and died for this country.
2.) Illegal Immigration - This is a growing problem inside the United States. There are companies in the United States who I believe engage in this new form of a slave trade by enticing "undocumented workers" across the border, along with the Mexican government that entices it, and tries to and does circumvent the border and immigration laws of the United States, and use those "undocumented workers" as a form of slavery by either helping them get a home, or for that matter, a vehicle, and not to mention give them health, medical, as well as car, and a home, and insurance, but the catch is that they must work for that company for a long time to pay for their way of life here in the United States. How can I say this??? This, I find to be not only unfair to those people who try to search for a better life, but unfair to the rest of us who have to struggle, just to survive. Does anyone see a similarity in this and back in the 1700's and 1800's, especially during the American Civil War??? We must stop this insanity that is being done by big corporations.
3.) Outsourcing of American Jobs - This is something that really makes me angry. Big companies in America and others feel that they can get better work out of outsourcing their jobs to other countries, and at cheaper cost, and do not want to invest in the American worker, because they probably think that the American worker is too spoiled.
4.) Liberal Media - OH, Where do I begin??? The major news agencies are like a bunch of whiny, crybabies who need their "diapers changed", by only wanting to publish the bad news like that of the body count in Iraq, or the Tsunami disaster, or maybe a fire, flood, celebrity run ins with the law, or any kind of sexual deviants thing that they can come up with. There is no good news at all, It is all bad, and the wanton disregard to report any good news from Iraq, or how the US Military is helping out in the Tsunami relief every day. It seems to me that the "Bleeding Heart", Whiny, Destruction, Famine , Death, Chaos, War, Political Correctedness, Liberal reporting Media needs to report more good in the world than the bad. I start to wonder if the Liberal media goes home at night and gets a good laugh by reporting the bad news all the time. Is this world going to "hell in a handbasket", or are the liberal media just looking to report dirty laundry all the time? I guess that reporting of things like the Michael Jackson case, or celebrity smut, like Paris Hilton and her escapades, Britney Spears and her escapades, just to name a few, and celebrity gossip is just oh, so more important than the real news, huh? I guess the good news is not newsworthy, or for that matter the POW/MIA issue is not newsworthy either. The POW/MIA issue is put on the "backburner" because it is not newsworthy. The accountability of this issue is not important to them, but celebrity gossip, celebrity smut, death, destruction, daily body counts in Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention also the President's approval rating is in a dive (To me, it sounds eerily similar to what happened during the Vietnam War), War, Political Correctness issue, and all sorts of junk reporting is more important than holding the U.S. Government, and other countries accountable for the POW/MIA issue.
