The Wall
Tears form on her face,
in the shadows of the night;
Darkness hides her shame,
until the early morning light.
Tens of thousands of names rest here--
their fate is etched in stone.
While, Oh, so many more
are waiting to come home.
Most will have their names placed here;
but, surely not them all.
The rest will come and weep
as they gaze upon The Wall.
While their sorrows fall upon the ground,
she will collect those eternal tears;
and place them with the others
she has gathered over the years.
In the shadows of the night
after darkness has closed in,
she will shed those eternal tears--
Remembering once again...
