The Sniper

They took me and molded me into a man.

Taught me to kill, taught me to stand,

Against the enemy that was my friend.

Little did I know they had planned my end.

I killed and killed and killed some more,

‘Til one day I could kill no more.

The blood rose up about me and took my very breath,

‘Til there I was a standing, wishing my own death.

I was sick of what I’d done,

For father, country and my son.

The way we’re taught is something strange,

Until one day there comes a change.

The LORD came down upon me and said "I’ll show the way"

"Follow me this moment and you will never slay,

Another man or anything on this my promised day."
