I wrote this Poem to " Bring Our POWS/MIA'S home as the black & white Flag displays a soldier in " lost honor " as he await's rescue, head weary & tipped, a shadow in the night in Camp's or " Lost Souls " waiting a lighted path to be recovered & labeled " HOME FREE. " I dedicate this poem to our brave Soldier's who did NOT return from War's called in the Korean-World War II-COLD WAR & Vietnam's long war..Families " await " unanswered questions to their loved ones death or imprisonment & as the Flag fly's proud to their symbol & daily fight in " YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN " imprinted on their Flag to keep their MEMORY'S alive. . . . . . .One POW returned yet his friend's linger behind & he wear's the a POW Bracelet to keep his past POW brother's alive in memory. In April of 1942, the Japanese took 75,000 troops & unable to feed or transport prisoner's, many died along paths to walk 65 miles under tropical sun. Most suffered malaria or dysentery & about 7,000 died along roads due to starvation & disease or shot to their death. Most POW'S were listed " Missing In Action " famous last words to closing books to answers left behind closed doors & soldier's left behind gates of " War Zones " of hidden Camps. Nick Rowe had survived 8 prison camps after his capture in 1963 & escaped in the U-Minh " Forest of Darkness. " He STRONGLY felt not all POW's were returned & started a Campaign for the 1300 MIA's during Vietnam WAR. He never took off his POW bracelet to keep POW'S alive in Spirit & as we keep POW'S/MIA'S alive by flying the black & white Flag to their symbolizing their memory's surviving. Our Government knew many POW'S kept in remote prison camps yet listed them as MISSING IN ACTION. The " TORCH " is lit in lighting the path to bringing our soldier's home as Family's & comrades await their return. . . . .
