ESLRs - EXPECTED SCHOOLWIDE LEARNING RESULTS:  Students, know your ESLRs.  These important expectations define our   goals as an educational community.  They are displayed in the main hallway outside room 115. This week we are focusing on the following ESLR:
Wallenberg prepares its students to be lifelong learners by developing their skills as Complex Thinkers who:
· generate creative ideas and select appropriate resources to solve problems;
· analyze, interpret and, synthesize; and
· adapt to change.

PARENTS:  There was a significant need for chairs with back support for our students in the science classrooms.   The auction is open to sponsor a science department chair; please sponsor a chair in the amount of $50.  Your family name will be honored on a plaque in the classroom and you will also be recognized in the yearbook as a sponsor.  Please make check payable to the P.T.S.A. and clearly earmark the check for chairs for science department.  Thank you for your support.           Mr. McCormick, Science Dept. REPORT CARDS:  On Monday, November 22nd, REPORT CARDS for the second six weeks of the fall semester will arrive at home via students.  Please ask your child for his/her report card for you to review, sign and return to the homeroom teacher.      Mrs. Walker

VIETNAMESE-AMERICAN SCHOLARSHIPS:  Vietnamese American students in grades 9-12 may apply for a $1,000 essay scholarship.  Pick up applications from Ms. Walker.  Deadline:  December 31.       Ms. Walker

FREE COMPUTER ACCESS & MULTI-MEDIA CLASSES:  Students – the Buchanan YMCA, minutes away at Buchanan and Geary, has FREE computer access and classes immediately after school.  A friendly staff will assist you in writing papers, using the Internet and learning video editing.  See Mr. Harris or Ms. Rayburn for details.        Mr. Harris
