SOVIET PARATROOPER UNIFORMS

Hosted by www.Geocities.ws

Both uniforms are for a corporal (left) and a Sergeant (right) serving in the mid to late 1980s. Both are very similar except that the uniform on the left is for a Parade. While the other uniform has been modified by the owner to enhance the appearance of his tunics. This is done by soldiers who have finished their service and are heading home. They do this to so they can make a good impression on their family. Please visit my PHOTO GALLERY to view more examples of these tunics.

Both uniforms have the distinctive blue and white "Tel’niashka" shirt worn under the tunic. They both have the Guards, Proficiency, Classification, Sports, and Para jump badges worn on their right side. The uniform on the right has a Para Commemorative badge worn above these badges. They both have been awarded the 70th Anniversary of the Armed Forces of the USSR medal. The both also have a “Komsomol” worn below this medal. They both are wearing a white parade belt. The 2 tunics also have blue collar boards with Para collar insignia. The uniform on the left has a regulations issue lanyard. While the uniform on the right has a non issue lanyard to enhance the tunic. They both have Para sleeve patch worn on the right arm. The uniform on the right has sewn the patch onto a white backing.
