AUSTRALIAN, FRENCH, AMERICAN & GERMAN HEAD GEAR

Hosted by www.Geocities.ws

The first hat is the famous Australian “Slouch hat”. This hat was my personal hat when I left the Military. It is made from a felt material and has a chin strap and a clip to hold the side up. On the up turned side is worn a “Raising Sun” hat badge. The band around the middle of the hat is called a “Pugaree”. It has 7 folds to represent the 7 States and Territories that make up Australia. On the middle of the ‘Pugaree” is attached my Regimental hat badge. This badge been the Royal Queensland Regiment (R.Q.R). On the other side of the “Pugaree” is a colour patch for the 9Th Battalion that I served in. This is a famous Battalion with many battle honours that date back to the Boer War. I was proud to serve in this Battalion as my Grandfather serviced with it in WW1(see photo gallery).

The beret is also mine. It is a blue beret with an R.Q.R. badge attached to the front. The coffee mug is a souvenir from where I did my basic training.
