The first beret is for a Sailor of the Naval Infantry. This a black beret with a red side flash. Attached to this side flash is a small anchor. The cap badge on this beret was only used up until the early 1980s. After this the standard soldiers cap badge was used.

The second beret is the same as the first except for the cap badge. It represents the change over from the old cap badge.
