SOVIET MILITARY HATS

Hosted by www.Geocities.ws

These 3 caps are for the Soviet Honour Guards of the Army and Airforce. The first cap is an officer Parade cap. It has an officers chin strap attached by 2 small buttons. These buttons are different to thoes worn on the Generals caps. These have a star with a hammer & sickle in the middle. Now these buttons are worn both by officers and enlisted personnel. So I will refer to them as standard buttons. The cap is a "Czar green" in colour with a red band and piping. It has a standard officers parade cap badge. On the peak of the cap is the special Honour Guard badge. If anybody has any of these Honour Guard cap badges spare. Please let me know as I would like to obtain one for my collection of cap badges.

The second cap is for an enlisted man. The second cap is an olive colour. It is officer grade quality service cap with an enlisted man cap badge on the front. It has the same chin strap as worn by an officer and is attached by the same standard buttons. The Honour Guard badge is also the same as officers cap. The cap has a red band and piping. This cap was also worn by members of the "Berlin Battalion" stationed in Berlin.

The third cap is for an Airforce Honour Guard enlisted man. It is an officers parade cap with an enlisted mans cap badge on the front. As with the other caps it has an officers chin strap attached by 2 standard buttons. The cap is dark blue with a light blue band and piping. This cap is not often seen as it is mainly the Army Honour Guards that are on show. I am always on the lookout for any badges or pictures of these Soviet Honour Guards. So if you have some please drop me a line.
