The first hat is a Sailors fur hat and is made from black artificial fur. It is not a high quality fur like the officers. A standard soldiers cap badge is worn on the front and the ear flaps tie up on the top. This hat would also be worn by Sailors of the Naval Infantry.

The second hat is a Sailors work beret and is seldomly seen. I have been told that it was also worn by members of coastal units. It is a navy blue cotton beret with a blue liner. A small red star badge is worn on the front.
