The Colt .25 pocket pistol was introduced in the very early part of the 20th century, and it's fairly typical of pocket pistols in production to this day. It's a very small single action semi-auto with a small safety catch and a grip safety. Such a small handgun would be a natural choice for deep-cover operations where concealability is top priority, and as with the Browning 1910, it wouldn't surprise me to see this diminutive auto being fitted with a sound suppressor for covert operations, as seen in Marushin's model.
Appearance
As with other Marushin Secret Agent series airsofts, the Colt .25 shows a good level of detail. This is the first of the series we've had that was in a silver finish; it's nice and even, and it must have been applied as a coating over the plastic to look so good. The suppressor is the same as the others, having a black finish and very fine brass threads.
Function
One of the first things you notice is that the grip safety is purely decorative; it doesn't even move. That's fine with me; on such a small airsoft, the more parts you have, the more likely something is to break. Like others in the series, this is a non-blowback gas airsoft which feeds and fires BBs through trigger action, giving the pistol a double-action feel. The six-round magazine is a small tube with no BB retainer at the top, so carrying extra magazines pre-loaded wouldn't work. Out of the box, the hop-up was adjusted so far down that BBs would roll out the barrel as you pulled the trigger, before you could even fire. With a little adjustment, the BBs stayed in place the the pistol worked reliably. The gas charge seemed to last forever with such a small BB load - I think a single gas charged lasted for ten magazines' worth of shooting (around 60 shots).
Accuracy
This is probably the least accurate of the Secret Agent guns that I've tried. Group size was inconsistent with or without the suppressor in place, even as close as seven yards. At that range, one could probably hit a human-sized target, but as the range increases to 15 yards, the group size becomes larger and the pistol shoots more and more to the left. Basically, this is a last-ditch airsoft, for use in deep cover scenarios or as an absolute emergency backup when someone is right on top of you.
Overall Impressions
The Colt .25 Secret Agent is a great addition to the line for collector's purposes, but due to its limited accuracy, it can hardly be considered a "serious" tournament gun except within very limited circumstances. Unless you're so much better than everyone around you that you'd take the Colt just to work with a handicap...
