199th Light Infantry Brigade

Organized on 21 December 1924 in the Organized Reserve with personnel
from Kentucky and West Virginia as HQ&HQ Company, 199th Infantry Brigade
as an organic element of the 100th Division with Headquarters at
Huntington, West Virginia.

Redesignated 23 March 1925 as HQ&HQ Company, 199th Brigade.

Redesignated 24 August 1936 as HQ&HQ Company, 199th Infantry Brigade.

Reorganized and redesignated 23 February 1942 as the 100th Recon Troop
(less 3d Platoon), 100th Division (concurrently, 200th Infantry Brigade
reorganized and redesignated as 3d Platoon, 100th Recon Troop).

Troop rorganized and redesignated on 1 August 1942 as the 100th Recon
Troop, 100th Infantry Division.

Troop ordered onto active military service 15 November 1942 at Fort
Jackson SC and concurrently reorganized and redesignated as the 100th
Cavalry Recon Troop.

Reorganized and redesignated 2 August 1943 as the 100th Recon Troop,
Mechanized.

Reorganized and redesignated 7 September 1945 as the 100th Mechanized
Recon troop.

Inactivated 11 January 1946 at Camp Patrick Henry, Virginia.

Redesignated 15 October 1946 as the Recon Platoon, 100th Airborne
Division.

Activated 2 December 1946 at Louisville, Kentucky.

Reorganized and redesignated 31 August 1950 as the Anti Tank Platoon,
100th Airborne Division.

Reorganized and redesignated 12 May 1952 as the 100th Recon Company
(Organized Reserves designated in 1948 as the Organized Reserve Corps;
in 1952 as the Army Reserve).

Inactivated 22 April 1953 at Louisville, Kentucky.

Activated 9 Janaury 1955 at Neon, Kentucky as an element of the 100th
Infantry Division.

Disbanded 17 April 1959.

100th Recon Company reconstituted on 23 March 1966;  concurrently
relieved from asignment to the 100th Infantry Division, withdrawn from
the Army Reserve, allotted to the Regular Army and company (less 3d
Platoon) redesignated as HQ&HQ Company, 199th Infantry Briagde
(Concurrently 3d Platoon, 100th Recon Troop redesiganted as HQ&HQ
Company, 200th Infantry Brigade with separate lineage).

199th Infantry Brigade (Separate)(Light) reactivetd 1 January 1966 at
Fort Benning, Georgia.
