A few of our members are or have been involved with the S.C.A. , enjoy playing at the Renaissance fairs. We dress up in garb for our Blots because like Christians this is our " Sunday go to church " style of dress, and we enjoy it too. We are not playing " Viking " when we do this. We are enjoying being close to our Gods/Godesses and the company of like minded individuals. If we are at an S.C.A. event or Ren. fair then we are playing Viking. We also do quite a bit of research into " factual " history. That's why all of the historical links. We have seen more than a few Asatruar who can rattle of Hávamál by memory but, has not a clue to what the Norse mind that created it was like. |
