| For a number of years now I have been told by many different people that I am a VERY PICKY LADY. This would sadden me because I always took that comment in a negative way. My response to that comment would always be not PICKY but PARTICULAR. I was raised by parents that taught me standards, morals, values and ideals. This included respecting others and treating them the way I would want to be treated. In thinking about this I would wonder how could this be negative. I would also think do I need to toss out what I was taught and set new ones so that I would fit in? What I believed in was so deeply ingrained in me, and so much a part of WHO I am that I knew I WOULD and COULD NOT be happy by tossing them out. This really became a struggle for me. A couple of years ago I met a person that has become VERY SPECIAL and DEAR to me. As our friendship grew I was reminded time and time again that what mattered the most to me IS worth the value that I placed on it. And by accept anything less than what I was looking for would destroy the happiness and peace that I was seeking. Thank you dear friend for showing me your GOOD HEART and sharing your TRUE SPIRIT with me. These are the two things that MATTER the most to me. |
