Albanian and Serbian. The KLA has been transformed into a civilian
corp, numbering 5, 000 with 200 carrying weapons. American soldiers
in Kosovo work tirelessly, as Camps Bondsteel and Monteith move toward
completion.
Camp Bondsteel/Camp Monteith, Kosovo: Improvements include a Burger
King, recreation facilities, paved roadways, and permanent housing.
Airborne soldiers with Company A, 1st Battalion, 508th Airborne
Battalion Combat Team, drop from the sky out of C-130 Hercules aircraft
during an emergency deployment readiness exercise, Operation Rapid Guardian,
in Kosovo Oct. 1. The unit deployed out of Vicenza, Italy.
