Prior to entering Kosovo, many U.S. troops gathered at Camp Able Sentry, Skopje,  Macedonia.  There, they met President Clinton.  From Macedonia, U.S. Troops went into Kosovo's southeast sector.  Camp Bondsteel became "home".

Peacekeeping is a dangerous task.  A priority of Task Force Falcon was to establish Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo.  As you can see, they did an outstanding job, and were ready for a bar-b-que on July 4, 1999. Bob Dole attended.  Click on each thumbnail to see the larger version.

Fun at the 4th of July bar-b-que, "Kosovo" style.  Bob Dole visited.

Secretary of Defense Cohen also visited the troops in July, 1999.  He went aboard the USS Keasarge and addressed the departing 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

As ever,  the U.S. Army and Marines patrol Kosovo. The Marines will be replaced by the "Big Red Ones", 1st Division U.S. Army, based in Germany. July, 1999
