  This file contains important installation information and late news about
  VeriWell for Win32s. Included is instructions for installation under
  Windows 3.1 and under Windows NT 3.5 and Windows 95.

  General Installation (for Windows 3.1, Windows NT, and Windows 95)
  ==================================================================

  All of the files are contained in a "zip" file. A utility for extracting
  these files is included. Create a target directory on your hard disk.
  Copy the zip file (the name will vary, but is something like "vw20_10.zip").

  Use the included "unzip" utility to extract the files from the archive:

  unzip vw20_10.zip

  This will extract the files and directories that comprise VeriWell.

  The printed manual explains how to create a new Windows group and then
  how to get the VeriWell icon in the new group.

  Special Note for Windows 3.1
  ============================

  VeriWell for Win32s is a 32-bit application. As shipped, Windows 3.1 does
  not support 32-bit applications. However, Microsoft supplies a library that
  can be installed into Windows to spoort 32-bit applications. This is known
  as "Win32s". We provide Win32s in case you don't already have it installed
  from some previous application.

  Win32s is supplied on a seperate disk. Win32s is *NOT* used in Windows NT
  or Windows 95 since they inherently support 32-bit applications.

  Instructions for installing Win32s are included in the disk and in the
  printed VeriWell manual.

  Special Note for Registered users under Windows NT
  ==================================================

  The hardware key requires a some special attention under Windows NT
  since it inherently limits access to the parallel ports.

  In the VeriWell for Win32s distribution, there is a file called "nt_only.zip".
  In this file is an executable file called "HLINST.EXE" (HardLock
  INSTall). This program is run from a DOS window from within Windows NT.
  This will automatically install the drivers and set the
  registery. Run it from the nt35 directory:

  hlinst .

  (The period tells HLINST to find the drivers in the current directory.)

  More details about what HLINST does and how manual installation can be do
  is in the "readme" file in the nt35 directory.
