Great site. I have enjoyed learning about US submarines. I have a question for you: how do U.S. submariners, both active and former, feel about the Kursk accident?

I was on the GCM from Jan '87 to Apr '91. I enjoyed your site. The 8 patrols on the GCM gold were exciting times, eventhough we went 4 knots to nowhere. I found another site trying to compile names of sub guys, its submarinesailor.com Hope that site put some of you guys in touch with your friends.

Visited your website and deck log. Great job! I was a Bluie on the old Georgefish 74-76...called her the BlueScrew. I'm adding all the old salts that have mentioned crewing her to my database of 654 crew. One day soon, I'll broadcast the list to everyone o we'll all know each other. It's a shame the GCM was scrapped. I would have loved to touch her one more time before she slipped into history. Its been 25 yrs and I still deeply miss the men I served with on the GCM. What a great crew! And, Patten...what great skipper!

Gotta disagree with your view of the "usta-types". I really enjoyed my tours there at the D1G and MARF. You were showing up at the exct time I left D1G as a PC for my boat (Oct83 to the James Madison). Ended going back in 87 to MARF, got picked up for N RO and commissioned. I ended up being there for a total of 13 years. I do agree that training enswines got very old very quickly, but the price has to be paid to enjoy Saratoga for that long. I get to retire in 02. Hope you are enjoying yours. D. Kelsey
